diplomsko delo
Abstract
V diplomskem delu polemiziramo odsotnost istospolne tematike v osnovnošolskih tiskanih medijih.

THE CONTENTS OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINTED MEDIA |
Secondary abstract: |
In this paper we discuss the lack of homosexual content throughout the primary school printed media. We introduce the topic from philosophical, sociological, psychological, pedagogical and political point of view to ensure our argumentation for the importance of discussing homosexuality is as broad as possible. The purpose of this paper is to research the frequency of homosexual content appearances in printed media used in primary school, concentrating on magazines, textbooks and workbooks. For this research, we used all of the certified textbooks, workbooks and several noncertified textbooks concerning social environment intended for years 1 to 3. We have also examined the last two years of two primary school magazines. We employed descriptive method for our research. Our research shows, that there are only rare appearances of homosexual content in selected primary school magazines. Most of the selected magazines issues do not discuss homosexuality, neither is it viewed as one of the differences between different people. We come to a conclusion that both magazines mostly employ conservative politics towards homosexual content. In textbooks, where authors discuss families, all types of families appear with the exception of a family with same sex partners. In those chapters, where textbook authors discuss differences among people, homosexuality rarely appears as one of those differences. We come to a conclusion that textbooks employ conservative politics when it comes to homosexuality. There is no mention of homosexuality as one of the invisible identities, even though other invisible identities, such as nationality, are mentioned. Photographic material, showing nuclear family, is prevalent in textbooks and workbooks. |
