Load bearing elements made from structural composite timber |
Secondary abstract: |
The study consists of two major parts. In the first part, there is a wider presentation of characteristcs and ways of use of structural composite timber. I try to present production process of all kinds of structural composite timber, posible shapes and sizes and it's use in construction. After that, the main focus is on cross-laminated timber. Among other, possibilities of using it in civil engineering are shown. This is followed by a short explanation of basic theory of thin-waled laminates, Blass's method for calculating caracteristics for a substitute homogenous profile sction. The problem o deformation perpendicular to the grain in the plane of the plate (Rolling- shear) is allso described. This is followed by comparative analysis of cross- laminated timber, made in a computer programe SAP2000. The analysis is made on four plates that have diferent thicknes and have diferent lenghts. Four diferent analysis are made. Almost all of the results can be used for further studies, if the engineer makes the judgment that the analisys is suitable for his needs. M. |
