The kindergarten teachers encounter fairytale on a daily basis, as it is one of the most popular genres of literature among preschool children.
In the theoretical part, I present the work of a kindergarten teacher, the theory of moral reasoning, as it was presented by Lawrence Kohlberg, the basic characteristics of fairytales, how to use a fairytale and how can we influence the child’s moral development through education.
In the empirical part, I present the results regarding the purpose of using fairytales by the kindergarten teachers, the most important educational values of the fairytale and a list of fairytales, which according to the kindergarten teachers offer the children most when it comes to moral upbringing.
