Secondary title: Situation of youth in Slovenian catholic girl guides and boy scouts association
Secondary abstract: In the thesis I concentrated on the young people and focused on one social group – boy scouts and girl guides. Social pedagogy covers a wide area of work with an individual and a group. It is directed towards social relationships in which an individual lives. It deals with all age groups, therefore also with the young people. Working with them has a very important role also from the perspective of including them into the society, considering the fact that they are already, or they soon will be, active citizens. One of the informal lines of working with the young is scouting, which is well developed in Slovenia as well as in the world. It offers young people a possibility of learning in nature, quality way of spending spare time and associating with friends. With personal improvement they can become independent, responsible and honest characters, who have a developed sense for others. In Slovenia, the Slovenian Catholic Girl Guides and Boy Scouts Association was established in March 31, 1990. The organization grew and developed over these twenty years, therefore it now has approximately 4300 members. I wonder in the thesis what the status among the young (15 to 29 years old) in this organization is. I focused on the area of spare time, school success, values, health and satisfaction with life. A quantitative analysis was done in the empirical part of the thesis. I acquired the results with the help of an online questionnaire. There were 334 girl guides and boy scouts, between the ages of 15 to 29, who filled in the query sheet. I compared some of the answers with a research Mladina 2010. Therefore, I got more results on the current state of the young in the ZSKSS and what are the benefits of the scout’s methods, which could also be used for social pedagogy.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi sem se posvetila mladim in izpostavila eno izmed socialnih skupin – skavtinje in skavte.
