Secondary abstract: Eco-School Programme is an internationally recognized program of comprehensive environmental education aimed at promoting and raising awareness of sustainable development among children, pupils and students through their educational and training program, and through active participation in the local community and beyond. The Eco-School program included Slovenian educational and training establishments. The basic principle of Eco-school program is that children, pupils and students will soon affect the future and take important decisions at all levels of our lives. Primary school Boštanj was included in the program during the school year 2009/2010. In the three years of which are part of the program are carried out seven steps required to enable the school by signing the eco-document, becomes the owner of the Green Flag, an international recognition for its environmental performance. The School program also works closely with the local community Boštanj. In the first part of my thesis, I briefly introduced Boštanj place, its location, characteristics, history and attractions. I also described the development of education and history of Boštanj elementary school. I touched on some important characteristics of schools projects that are currently in school to date. Below I have described in detail the Eco-School program, its features and operation of the school Boštanj in accordance with the guidelines of the program. The didactic work, I conducted lessons in the 4th grade school Boštanj and wrote a detailed analysis of the lessons. In the last, the empirical part, I analyze the effectiveness of Eco-Schools in the particular problem of waste management.

Abstract (ePrints): Program Ekošola je mednarodno uveljavljen program celostne okoljske vzgoje in izobraževanja, namenjen spodbujanju in večanju ozaveščenosti o trajnostnem razvoju med otroki, učenci in dijaki, skozi njihov vzgojni in izobraževalni program ter skozi aktivno udejstvovanje v lokalni skupnosti in širše. V program Ekošola so vključene slovenske vzgojne in izobraževalne ustanove. Osnovno načelo delovanja programa Ekošola je, da bodo otroci, učenci in dijaki kmalu v prihodnosti vplivali in sprejemali pomembne odločitve na vseh ravneh našega življenja. Osnovna šola Boštanj se je v program vključila v šolskem letu 2009/2010. V treh letih, od kar so del programa, so izpeljali sedem zahtevanih korakov, ki omogočajo, da šola s podpisom eko-listine, postane lastnica Zelene zastave, mednarodnega priznanja za okoljevarstveno delovanje. Prav tako šola v programu tesno sodeluje s krajevno skupnostjo Boštanj. V prvem delu svojega diplomskega dela sem na kratko predstavila kraj Boštanj, njegovo lego, značilnosti, zgodovino in zanimivosti. Opisala sem tudi razvoj šolstva v Boštanju in zgodovino osnovne šole Boštanj. Dotaknila sem se nekaterih pomembnih značilnosti šole in projektov, ki so na šoli trenutno aktualni. V nadaljevanju sem podrobno opisala program Ekošola, njegove značilnosti in delovanje OŠ Boštanj v skladu s smernicami programa. V didaktičnem delu sem izvedla učni uri v 4. razredu OŠ Boštanj in napisala podrobno analizo o urah. V zadnjem, empiričnem delu pa sem analizirala uspešnost Ekošole predvsem pri problemu ravnanja z odpadki.
