Cross-sectoral integration of mathematics in the project "Visiting alien" |
Secondary abstract: |
The child begins to teach mathematics already in pre-school age. It is important to consider the child's prior knowledge, his desires and interests, and of course the child's own activity. The teacher must also take into account the fact that the field of mathematics is mostly feasible when linked with other areas. The curriculum is divided into six areas of activity (movement, language, art, nature, society and mathematics). The thesis presents the mathematical content in conjunction with other areas of the curriculum. The theoretical part of thesis covers active learning in kindergarten, the acquisition of mathematical concepts in the preschool period and cross-sectoral integration. It indentified areas of individual connections with mathematics and examples. The empirical part represents of planned mathematical activities that are covered by project, and connect with other areas of the curriculum. Concrete examples of cross-sectoral linkages that have taken place in the group of children aged 4 to 5 years are also explained in the analysis. The purpose of these activities was to look for work with children, based on cross-sectoral integration of mathematics and other curriculum areas, to determine how children can learn mathematical concepts through a good motivation and how to progress in the understanding of selected mathematical concepts. With descriptive method I have found that there are many connections with mathematics and other areas of the curriculum, children were active in activities, well motivated, they experience success and were enjoying in game. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
