Secondary abstract: Examining theoretical aspects and practical examples, the thesis demonstrates the importance of using puppets in the early teaching of English. It leads to the conclusion that the use of puppets is invaluable, as they significantly contribute to creating good atmosphere in the group and the child-friendly environment for learning English. Their use helps children lose the fear of loud pronunciation as the puppets, their friends, present to them “their” English language through game. Practical examples show how the use of puppets in the early learning of English helps to improve children’s memorization of the language and helps to decrease their fear of loud pronunciation. Moreover, the puppets help to motivate children to participate in the lesson without feeling forced to do so.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomska naloga s pomočjo teoretičnih vidikov in praktičnih primerov prikaže pomembnost uporabe lutk pri zgodnjem učenju angleškega jezika. Ob njej ugotovimo, da je uporaba lutk neprecenljiva, saj močno pripomorejo k dobremu počutju v skupini in spoznavanju z angleščino na otroku prijazen način. Pomagajo mu pri izgubi strahu pred glasno izgovorjavo ter postanejo njegove prijateljice, ki mu preko igre predstavijo »njihov« angleški jezik. S pomočjo praktičnih primerov je prikazano, kako lahko lutke pri zgodnjem učenju angleščine uporabljamo in kako le-te pomagajo pri izboljšanju zapomnitve angleščine, izgubi strahu za glasno izgovorjavo ter pri sami motivaciji otrok za neprisiljeno sodelovanje pri uri.
