Secondary title: Stability of reinforced earth slopes on the western portal of the Markovec tunnel
Secondary abstract: The subject of this Graduation Thesis is stability of slopes and embankments by the methods of limit equilibrium. It provides general description of different slip surfaces. Various numerical methods are described and different equations for calculation of stability of slopes and embankments are given. A general description of geosynthetics and their functions follows in the continuation. The question of durability of geosynthetics is discussed and various degradation mechanisms are described. More detailed description of geosynthetics for reinforcement of slopes and embankments is given. The enclosure of the Graduation Thesis is a description and explanation of the procedures of calculations that were made in stability analysis of the reinforced earth slope on the western portal of the Markovec tunnel. Calculations were made by Slide and Maccaferri Macstars 2000 computer programs.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomska naloga obravnava stabilnost brežin in nasipov po metodah mejnih ravnovesij. Podaja splošen opis ravnih drsnih ploskev, krožno- cilindričnih drsnih ploskev in poljubnih drsnih ploskev. Opisane so različne numerične metode ter podani izrazi za izračun stabilnosti. Sledi splošen opis geosintetikov in njihovih funkcij. Izračuni so narejeni s programi Slide in Maccaferri Macstars 2000.
