Secondary abstract: My thesis entitled “The occurrence of aggression in children with mild and moderate developmental cognitive disabilities” is divided into two parts. The first part introduces the phenomenon of aggression and the development of children with mild and moderate dysfunctions in cognitive development, whereas the focus of the second part is on the empirical research, the results acquired through questionnaire survey and the summary results. The essence of my thesis lies in determining the occurrence of aggression in both - children with mild and those with moderate developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD), its manifestations and the differences between the two groups. My attempt is to enlighten - with the help of literary sources and empirical research - the possible causes for the occurrence of aggression. In my thesis I use a modified Buss-Durkee aggression questionnaire, the results of which are presented in the empirical part of my research. Even though the results cannot be generalised for all children with DCD, they may be used as an orientational tool in any subsequent projects which would hopefully extend and deepen the research of aggressive behaviour. While writing my thesis, I have come to a conclusion that the presented phenomenon has thus far been very poorly researched. I sincerely hope that my personal contribution will function as a motivational factor and trigger further research of the problem in question.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomsko delo "Pojav agresivnosti pri otrocih z lažjo in zmeno motnjo v duševnem razvoju" je razdeljeno na dva dela. V prvem delu bom prestavila agresivnost in razvoj otrok z lažjo ter zmerno motnjo v duševnem razvoju (v nadaljevanju MDR) na splošno, njihove osnovne zakonitosti razvoja. V drugem delu bom predstavila empirično raziskavo, rezultate pridobljene z vprašalnikom ter povzetek rezultatov. Bistvo diplomskega dela je ugotoviti pojav agresivnosti pri otrocih z lažjo in zmerno MDR, v kakšni obliki se kaže in kakšne so razlike med skupinama. V diplomskem delu bom s pomočjo literature in raziskave poskusila osvetliti možne vzroke, ki vplivajo na pojav agresivnosti. V diplomskem delu bom uporabila prirejen Buss-Durkeejev vprašalnik agresivnosti, rezultati le-tega bodo razvidni v empiričnem delu raziskave. Čeprav rezultatov ne morem posplošiti na vse otroke z lažjimi in zmernimi motnjami v duševnem razvoju, nam bodo služili kot orientacija v nadaljnih projektih, saj si močno želim, da se področje raziskovanja agresivnega vedenja poglobi in dodatno nadgradi, saj sem tekom pisanja diplomske naloge prišla do spoznanja, da je ta problematika slabše raziskana. Upam, da bo moja naloga delovala kot motivacija oz. sprožilec v smeri nadaljnega raziskovanja tega področja.
