Comparison of the Slovenian and Spanish youth literature |
Secondary abstract: |
Master's thesis deals with the Spanish children's and youth literary texts, translated into Slovenian, and selected Slovenian texts, which can be compared with respect to the motive-thematic aspect. That also allowes an easier placement of translations into Slovenian cultural and literary context.
The thesis presents in detail a model of text analysis, developed by Spanish scientist Gemma Lluch (2003, 2004). It is a three-part model for the analysis of youth literary texts, which is suitable for the analysis of prose texts. Using this model, the comparison of Spanish and translated selected Slovenian texts is simpler, since it is clearly structured and individual notions are precise. The texts are discussed from three aspects: communication, reading paratextual elements and structure of the text. This approach is new, because it combines classical elements of literary analysis with contemporary theories and approaches.
What follows is an analysis of selected translations of Spanish texts for children and youth and their Slovenian parallels. The analysis is adapted from the model of Gemma Lluch, and also includes some elements that in the original model has not been specifically highlighted (cultural-specific elements, elements of image analysis in picture books).
Comparison of translated texts and their Slovenian parallels shows that literary works are very different. Although they were selected according to the motive-thematic perspective, the differences are large. In some cases, it shows higher quality of translated work in other selected Slovenian parallels are better.
It also presents didactic recommendations, which have been laced with some ideas for using translated Spanish texts of youth in the classroom in primary school and within bibliopedagogical hours.
There are still many questions and issues that could be explored in the field of translated Spanish literature, for example. Latin American literary works and authors. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Besedila so obravnavana s treh vidikov: komunikacija, obravnava parabesedilnih elementov in struktura besedila.
