Secondary abstract:	Equine assisted therapy is presented as one of possible approaches when helping individuals with special needs. This work includes explanation of basic conceptions from the fields of equine assisted therapy and autism spectrum disorders. Motives for inclusion individuals with autism spetrcum disorders to this form of therapy are presented. Study was planned based on presented findings and carried out during school year 2009/2010. The purpose of this study is to ascertain possible effects of equine assisted therapy on quality of life of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Six participants have shown significant or minor progress in six chosen fields: socialization, communication, emotional and physical tension, attention, following instructions and tactile hipersensitivity.

Abstract (ePrints):	V diplomskem delu je podrobno predstavljena terapija s pomočjo konja kot oblika pomoči osebam s posebnimi potrebami. Razloženi so vsi pojmi s področja terapije s pomočjo konja in spektroavtističnih motenj. Predstavljeni so razlogi za vključitev oseb s spektroavtističnimi motnjami v takšno obliko terapije. Na podlagi domače in tuje literature na tem področju je bila načrtovana tudi raziskava, ki sem jo izvedla tekom šolskega leta 2009/2010. Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti, ali lahko terapija s pomočjo konja izboljša kvaliteto življenja oseb s spektroavtističnimi motnjami. Šest udeležencev v raziskavi je pomembneje ali manj pomembneje napredovalo na šestih opazovanih področjih: socializacija, komunikacija, čustvena in telesna napetost, pozornost, sledenje navodilom in taktilna preobčutljivost.
