Secondary abstract: The study evaluated effectiveness of swimming courses for children in the third grade. Six generations data of primary school Šenčur were used. The research, based on the 20-hours swimming course and the documentation, has included 463 children. The 8-scale ranking, created by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, was used. The research showed that the rate of swimming significantly affect the progress in the swimming skills of pupils. The course was recorded 100 swimmers on the first day of the course, which is 21,6 % of all children in the course. The last day of course, the number of swimmers increased to 365, which represents 78,8 % of participating pupils. The results of comparative tests by gender of children have shown that girls are more successful in the transition from non-swimmer to swimmer. The percentage of girls has increased with the rate of 63,5 %, the percentage of boys with the rate of 52,2 %.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti uspešnost plavalnih tečajev za učence tretjega razreda osnovne šole. Uporabljeni so bili podatki šestih generacij tretješolcev osnovne šole Šenčur. Na podlagi 20-urnega plavalnega tečaja in pridobljene dokumentacije je bila izvedena pedagoška raziskava, v katero je bilo vključenih 463 tretješolcev. Pri ocenjevanju smo uporabili 8-stopenjsko lestvico, ki jo je predpisalo Ministrstvo za izobraževanje, znanost, kulturo in šport. Raziskava je pokazala, da je tečaj plavanja občutno vplival na napredek v znanju plavanja tretješolcev. Na začetku tečaja je bilo evidentiranih 100 plavalcev, kar je le 21,6 % vseh učencev prijavljenih na tečaj. Zadnji dan tečaja pa je število plavalcev naraslo na 365, kar predstavlja 78,8 % vseh tretješolcev vključenih v raziskavo. Rezultati primerjalnega testa glede na spol učencev so pokazali, da so bile deklice nekoliko uspešnejše ob prehodu od neplavalca k plavalcu. Odstotek plavalk se je s tečajem zvišal za 63,5 %, odstotek plavalcev pri dečkih pa za 52,2 %.
