I work in a rural kindergarten as a preschool teacher. In its immediate vicinity, we can see modern buildings mixed with the typical rural architecture, maintaining the image of the past. Therefore, employees at kindergarten want that preschool children get best knowledge about habits and work of our grandparents.
The purpose of the thesis was to identify and build up children's knowledge related to the life and work on the farm, and to adapt science activities with gained knowledge. This part consists of theoretical, empirical and practical work.
The theoretical part includes some of the main features of Slovenian farms and presents us a detailed description of the main characteristics of the farm animals.
The empirical part includes research date, which we have got from 70 preschool children from kindergarten, aged between five and six years. The questions in this part have been structured to reveal their ideas about animals, life and work on the farm. The responses have given us the basis for guidelines for activities with children.. At the end of practical work we questioned childreen again and after that we could see, how childreens ideas about farm changed.
Practical part includes children work and their researching farm life and farm work. Children were finding out how to take care about animals and what those animals eat, what people do at farms and how different work is connected.
I was trying to include all childreen to activities, I was making up their ideas gradually. Every activity we made I described and added some pictures. |

Delo vzgojiteljice opravljam v podeželskem vrtcu. V njegovi neposredni okolici lahko opazimo moderne novogradnje, pomešane s tipično podeželsko arhitekturo, ki ohranjajo podobo preteklosti. Zaradi tega v vrtcu želimo, da otroci kar najbolje spoznajo navade in delo naših starih staršev.
Namen diplomske naloge je bil opredeliti in nadgraditi znanje otrok, povezano z življenjem in z delom na kmetiji, ter s pridobljenim znanjem prilagoditi naravoslovne dejavnosti. Naloga je sestavljena iz teoretičnega, empiričnega in iz praktičnega dela.
Teoretični del vključuje nekaj glavnih značilnosti slovenskih kmetij in nam podrobneje predstavi ter opiše glavne lastnosti živali, ki so na njih najpogosteje prisotne.
Empirični del zajema podatke raziskave, v kateri je sodelovalo 70 predšolskih otrok, starih med pet in šest let. Vprašanja so sestavljena tako, da razkrivajo njihove predstave o živalih, življenju in o delu na kmetiji. Odgovori otrok so podali izhodišča za naravoslovne dejavnosti. Ponovitev raziskave ob koncu dejavnosti nam je prinesla vpogled v to, koliko so se predstave otrok tekom dejavnosti spremenile.
Praktični del vključuje aktivno sodelovanje in spoznavanje otrok z življenjem in z delom na kmetiji. Otroci so se seznanjali z živalmi, ugotavljali, kako je treba zanje skrbeti ter zakaj je skrb za živali potrebna. Seznanili so se s prehrano in s skrbjo za živali, z delom na kmetiji in ugotavljali medsebojno povezanost različnih opravil.
Tekom dela sem se ves čas trudila, da so vsi otroci pri dejavnostih aktivno sodelovali, njihovo znanje pa sem postopno nadgrajevala. Vse dejavnosti, ki smo jih izvedli, sem podrobno opisala ter priložila nekaj nastalega slikovnega gradiva. |
