Secondary abstract: A good teacher has to know how to motivate pupils through lectures and strive for learners to acquire the knowledge in the best possible way. Thus, teachers seek for various instruments and methods in order to make their work well done and attractive. The aim of this diploma thesis is to show the comic (strip) as a teaching tool which will make teacher's work easier on one hand and pupil's life more interesting on the other hand. The emphasis is on electronic educational comics, named e(du)-comics. At the beginning of this diploma thesis we considered the differences between classical comics and e(du)-comics. In addition, we focused into properties of both genres. To ease reader's work we stated several historical milestones about both genres origins. Next, we presented e(du)-comics as an appropriate teaching tool by opinion of several experts. In central part of our work we addressed usage possibilities of such comics in schools and applications how to design and create them. There are a lot of organizations abroad which offer and promote efficient use of e(du)-comics in classes. Therefore, some web sites which offer creation of comics are presented. Many of these offer also teaching schemes for teachers and teaching workshops to be used in classrooms which contain e(du)-comics. In the continuation of this thesis the advantages of e(du)-comics are presented. At the end we present some of our own comics created with the web application Bitstrips for schools. To expose the quality of this application the sixth chapter contains also other web applications and programs for creating comics. All are freeware and available on a world wide web. Our elaborated comics are designed for various age groups. E(du)-comics can be read by everyone interested. A need for preceding knowledge is determined by pretentiousness of the comic. During our pedagogical work with different groups of test users we found out without any doubt that e(du)-comics are interesting and effective teaching tools.

Abstract (ePrints): Dober učitelj mora znati učence motivirati skozi celo uro in težiti k temu, da učenci skozi uro čim bolje usvojijo obravnavano učno temo. Učitelji tako iščejo različne pripomočke in postopke, da popestrijo učno uro in jo opravijo kar se da dobro. Namen diplomskega dela je prikazati stripe kot šolski pripomoček, ki bo v prihodnje učiteljem olajšal učne ure in učencem popestril šolsko življenje. Gre za elektronske izobraževalne stripe. V diplomskem delu smo jih poimenovali e(du)-stripi, kar izhaja iz angleške besedne zveze electronic educational comics. Na začetku diplomskega dela smo analizirali razlike med klasičnim in e(du)-stripom. Prav tako smo se osredotočili na lastnosti enega in drugega žanra. Za lažjo predstavo smo navedli nekaj pomembnih zgodovinskih prelomnic nastanka obeh žanrov stripov. Po mnenju uveljavljenih strokovnjakov je e(du)-strip lahko odličen učni pripomoček. V osrednjem delu govorimo o uporabi tovrstnih stripov v šolah. V tujini je veliko organizacij, ki preko spleta promovirajo in ponujajo različne načine kako ta učni pripomoček učinkovito uporabiti v razredu. Predstavljenih je nekaj spletnih strani, ki ponujajo virtualne učilnice za šole. Mnoge od teh ponujajo učne načrte učiteljem in učne delavnice za izvajanje v razredih, ki vsebujejo e(du)-stripe. V nadaljevanju diplomskega dela so predstavljene vse prednosti e(du)-stripov. Na koncu diplomskega dela so predstavljeni lastni stripi, ki so bili izdelani s spletno aplikacijo Bitstrips for school. Da bi izpostavili kakovost te aplikacije, so v šestem poglavju predstavljene še druge spletne aplikacije in programi za izdelovanje stripov. Vse predstavljene aplikacije so brezplačne in dosegljive na spletnih straneh. Izdelani e(du)-stripi so namenjeni različnim starostnim skupinam. E(du)-stripe namreč lahko bere vsak, ki ga to zanima. Potrebe po predhodnjem znanju so odvisne od zahtevnosti stripa. Pri pedagoškem delu z različnimi skupinami testnih uporabnikov smo prišli do zaključka, da so e(du)-stripi nedvomno zanimiv in učinkovit učni pripomoček.
