Examples of use and mobile devices educational suitability |

With the advance of new electronic elements, components and technology, mobile devices now offer more ways of communication, better service quality and faster transmission of data. Last years we can also observe the rise of use of tablet computers, as a binding device between mobile telephones and more powerful personal computers. The widespread popularity of these devices, easy portability, their small size, immediate prepareness to work and ability to work anytime and anywhere reflects in mobile learning, as a special branch of e-learning.
In this thesis we treat the mobile learning through two complementary points of view. The first point of view presents a selection of seventeen examples of good practice of mobile learning. Among the reported cases are also mobile learning experiments from Slovenia. One can observe the diversity of devices used, diversity of educational fields and how the complexity of cases increases with years of experiences in mobile learning.
The second point of view is based on the premise that for effective mobile learning we need knowledge about the properties and functionality that mobile devices offer or allow. Only in this way can the authors of educational materials and educational applications take advantage of device capabilities on one side and adapt to the constraints of these devices on the other side. In reviewing mobile devices, we derived from the current commercial offer of mobile devices from leading mobile operators in Slovenia. Properties of devices are shown in the comparison charts followed by discussion about them. |

Z razvojem novih elektronskih elementov, komponent in tehnologij omogočajo mobilne naprave več načinov komunikacije, boljšo kakovost storitev in hitrejše prenose podatkov. V zadnjem času narašča tudi uporaba tabličnih računalnikov, ki zapolnjujejo vrzel med mobilnimi telefoni in zmogljivimi osebnimi računalniki. Vsesplošna popularnost teh naprav, lahka prenosljivost, majhnost, takojšnja pripravljenost na delo in zmožnost dela kadarkoli in kjerkoli se odraža tudi v mobilnem izobraževanju, kot posebni veji e-izobraževanja.
V diplomskem delu je obravnavano mobilno izobraževanje skozi dva komplementarna pogleda. V prvem delu je predstavljen izbor sedemnajstih primerov dobre prakse mobilnega izobraževanja. Med opisanimi primeri so tudi slovenski poskusi mobilnega izobraževanja, razvidna pa je pestrost uporabljenih naprav, izobraževalnih področij ter kompleksnost primerov, ki z leti narašča.
Drugi del diplomskega dela temelji na predpostavki, da moramo za učinkovito mobilno izobraževanje poznati lastnosti in funkcionalnost, ki jih mobilne naprave ponujajo oziroma omogočajo. Le na tak način lahko avtorji izobraževalnih gradiv in izobraževalnih aplikacij izkoristijo zmogljivosti naprav na eni strani in se prilagodijo omejitvam teh naprav na drugi strani. Pri pregledu mobilnih naprav smo izhajali iz trenutne komercialne ponudbe mobilnih naprav pri vodilnih mobilnih operaterjih slovenskega tržišča. Lastnosti so prikazane na primerjalnih grafikonih in z diskusijo ob tem. |
