Secondary title: Psychological maltreatment of preschool children
Secondary abstract: The goal of this diploma thesis is to establish the frequency of the emotional abuse of children at home and at kindergarten, and to establish how well kindergarten employees can recognize and take measures at the suspicion of it. The diploma thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part the forms of abuse are described, as well as symptoms, consequences and measures to prevent further abuse. The data concerning the frequency of abuse in the institution and in homes was compared. The people responsible were also described. The empirical part presents the results of the survey, which investigated the recognition of emotional abuse and the response of kindergarten employees when they detect it, as well as the differences in the frequency of abuse at home or at kindergarten. The survey showed that people have problems with recognition and are not familiar with the measures to prevent further abuse. The comparison of frequency of abuse shows that abuse occurs at home more often than in kindergarten.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen diplomskega dela je ugotoviti pogostost pojavljanja čustvene zlorabe otrok doma in v vrtcu ter ugotoviti seznanjenost strokovnih delavcev vrtca z njenim prepoznavanjem in ukrepih ob sumu nanjo.
