Secondary title: Implementation of modifications in pre-schoolers' diet
Secondary abstract: This thesis consists of two parts. In the theoretical part we present Mengeš Pre-school, its mission, tasks, principles and work organization. We also describe the organization of pre-school nutrition, the amount of food organizer's work and guidelines for healthy nutrition which are followed in menus of Mengeš Pre-school. The aim and the objective of the research were to establish which modifications are needed in pre-school's diet by pre-school teachers’ opinion, the success of implementing modifications in pre-school's diet, factors that successfully impact these modifications and how to include the pre-school staff in the process of diet modifications. The sample consists of 36 pre-school teachers and their assistants from the Mengeš Pre-school. The research was based on September 2011 and September 2012 menus. We examined the frequency of fresh fruits, vegetables and foods with added sugar on weekly basis. We also examined the frequency and diversity of side dishes, bread, fish and soups on monthly basis. All foods were counted and analysed how often they repeat within a month. Results of 2012 were compared to those of 2013. Data were also collected from pre-school staff survey questionnaires. They answered the questionnaires twice; firstly in 2012, before the pre-school diet modifications were implemented and secondly in 2013 after the implementation of modifications. The results showed insufficient involvement in pre-school's diet process prior to modifications according to the staff's opinion and the positive influence these modifications have on the staff's attitude towards the pre-school's diet. The research also showed our compliance with guidelines for healthy nutrition while implementing diet modifications.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh delov. Prvi je teoretični del, v katerem smo predstavili Vrtec Mengeš, njegovo poslanstvo, naloge, načela vrtca in organiziranost dela v njem. Predstavili smo organizacijo prehrane v vrtcu, obseg dela organizatorja prehrane in smernice zdravega prehranjevanja, po katerih za prehrano vrtčevskih otrok v Vrtcu Mengeš sestavljamo jedilnik. Namen in cilj raziskave je bilo ugotoviti, kaj bi bilo po mnenju vzgojiteljic potrebno spremeniti v vrtčevski prehrani, ugotoviti uspešnost uvajanja sprememb prehrane v Vrtcu Mengeš in dejavnike, ki uspešno vplivajo na uvajanje sprememb v vrtčevski prehrani ter na kakšen način vključiti zaposlene v vrtcu v uvajanje sprememb v vrtčevski prehrani. V vzorec je vključenih 36 zaposlenih vzgojiteljic in pomočnic vzgojiteljic v Vrtcu Mengeš. Osnovo za izvajanje dela so tvorili zapisi septembrskih jedilnikov leta 2011 in zapisi septembrskih jedilnikov leta 2012. Zanimala nas je pogostost pojavljanja svežega sadja, zelenjave in živil z dodanim sladkorjem na tedenski ravni. Zanimala pa nas je tudi pogostost in raznolikost pojavljanja prilog, kruha, rib in juh na mesečni ravni jedilnika. Vsa živila smo prešteli in analizirali v kolikšni meri se ponavljajo v mesečnem oziroma štiri tedenskem obdobju. Dobljene rezultate v letu 2012 in letu 2013 smo primerjali. Podatke smo zbirali tudi s pomočjo anketnih vprašalnikov za zaposlene. Vprašalnik so zaposleni izpolnjevali dvakrat. Prvič leta 2012 pred uvedenimi spremembami v vrtčevsko prehrano in drugič leta 2013, po uvedenih spremembah. Rezultati so pokazali, da so zaposleni menili, da so premalo vključeni v proces prehranjevanja pred uvedenimi spremembami, ter da uvedene spremembe pozitivno vplivajo na odnos zaposlenih do prehranjevanja otrok v vrtcu. Raziskava pa je tudi pokazala, da smo z uvedbo sprememb prehrane v vrtcu upoštevali smernice zdravega prehranjevanja v vzgojno izobraževalnih ustanovah.
