In the first part of the graduation thesis, a short description of the Sora and the Selška Sora watershed is presented. Some basic, topographic, hydrographic and hydrologic characteristics of the treated section between Dermota weir and Dolenc weir are illustrated on the basis of field inspection and literature sources. The description of the software used for building of hydraulic computation model and for regulation of treated section, Aquaterra and HEC-RAS 3.1.3, is also presented in this section. The simulations of steady flows were performed for the flows with recurrence interval of 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 years and also for the flood that occurred on 8.9.1995. Unsteady flow simulation was performed on the basis of the synthetic unit hydrograph for the theoretical flood with flow peak that reflects the flow with recurrence interval of 100 years (Q100). Both, steady and unsteady computations are compared with each other. Also, the map of floodplains with Q100 is presented for treated section. The plan to protect the urban endangered parts from floods with water regulation is described and presented in the final part of the graduation thesis. The proposed regulation consists of multiple measures, from the lowering of the Dermota weir, river channel dredging and expansion to construction of levees and floodwalls. |
