Art therapy for people with intellectual disability |

The first part of my thesis presents theoretical introduction where I introduce art therapy. There are introduced the basic aims, purposes, members included in the process, phases of the process, forms of execution and interpretation of the art product. The theoretical part also contain the presentation of people with intellectual disability, classification and causes of intellectual disabilities. The aim of this thesis was to establish the influence of art therapy on persons with intellectual disability on areas such as self-esteem, socialization, communication, concentration and independence. The second part od this thesis presents four persons with mild and moderate intellectual disability between 20 and 32 years. For each individual I have used a questionnaire adjusted on an Evaluational list by Bizjak (2007). A questionnaire was filled before and at the end of art therapy sessions. I have come to the conclusion that art therapy has some positive influences on persons with intellectual disability, but the results after 12. sessions are almost the same as at the beginning. In my opinion it is necessary to perform art therapy for a longer period of time, at least one year or more if we want to achieve some changes. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Prvi del diplomskega dela predstavlja teoretični uvod, v katerem sem predstavila pomoč z likovno umetnostjo, v tuji literaturi likovno terapijo. |
