Secondary title: Detecting emotional and behavioural difficulties of children on primary school
Secondary abstract: In the diploma thesis we studied the level of perception and sensitivity in the perception of children with emotional and behavioural problems, the applied methods of teachers who work with such children and the expert competences of teachers dealing with emotionally and behaviourally troubled children in the first triad of primary school. We also tried to establish whether professional help to children with emotional and behavioural problems is provided in time. Based on these studies we determined that teachers notice and detect children with emotional and behavioural problems soon enough, but they are lacking expert knowledge and experience to deal with the problem. The diploma thesis revealed that the amount of help these children receive is insufficient, since the school counsellors are not qualified to offer expert help and support to teachers, troubled children and their parents or to deal with this issue. Our findings prove that children with emotional and behavioural problems usually receive help to late or that the help they are provided with is not effective.
