Secondary title: Light and shadow in graphic etching
Secondary abstract: The purpose of my dissertation is to explore the light-dark art element in the graphic etching technique and the process of creating etching, to study the works of art of important graphic artists in the History of Art and finally to present my own graphic works. I have focused on the graphic etching technique and its forms, etching and reservage. In addition to this technique I have been primarily interested in the art form of light and dark contrasts well present in the chosen graphic technique. I have explored the graphic works of the following artists: Rembrandt, Harmenszoon van Rijn, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Janez Bernik, Bojan Kovačič and I have tried to determine the differences among them by formal analysis of their works. Following is the presentation and description of my own graphic works linked by the same graphic technique. The matrices I have prepared are abstract. In the pedagogical part of the dissertation, I have analysed the works of pupils in graphic etching technique done at school subject Artistic Creation III.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen moje diplomske naloge je raziskovanje likovne prvine svetlo-temno v grafični tehniki jedkanice, procesa ustvarjanja jedkanice, proučevanje del pomembnejših grafičnih umetnikov skozi zgodovino likovne umetnosti ter na koncu predstavitev lastnih grafičnih del. Raziskala sem grafična dela naslednjih umetnikov: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Janez Bernik, Bojan Kovačič. S formalno analizo njihovih del sem skušala opredeliti razlike med njimi. Nato sledi predstavitev in opis lastnih grafičnih del, ki jih povezuje omenjena likovna prvina in so narejene v tej grafični tehniki. Matrice, ki sem jih pripravila, so abstraktne. V zadnjem, pedagoškem delu diplomske naloge, analiziram izdelke učencev v grafični tehniki jedkanice in sicer pri predmetu Likovno snovanje III.
