Secondary title: Bilingualism in kindergarten
Secondary abstract: The thesis discusses the problem of bilingualism in the pre-school period. This is essential for the child's language development, therefore the first part of the theoretical thesis is devoted to language and speech in general. Various foreign and domestic authors point out the importance of verbal interaction of an adult with the child during this period. As important factors in addition to the family environment the child's gender and kindergarten were also mentioned. The thesis explains the concepts of the first language or mother tongue (L1), second language (L2) and foreign language (FL). In dealing with the concept of bilingualism the first two often occur and are closely linked. In the second part, bilingualism is defined, its kind are listed and described. The thesis points out the advantages and disadvantages of bilingual education and the influence of parents and educators to bilingual education. In the empirical part of the thesis the results and interpretation of the interviews, conducted with parents and pre-school teachers, are presented. Parents whose children are bilingual and were led to the bilingualism by a life situation (either a mixed marriage or work abroad), as well as pre-school teachers and assistant teachers employed in kindergarten, in which educational work is carried out in Slovenian and have a bilingual child in group, were included in research. We talked about their experiences, methods of education, work and communication with children, and most importantly, about their views and opinions on bilingual education.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi je obravnavan problem dvojezičnosti v predšolskem obdobju. Pojasnjeni so pojmi materinščina oz. prvi jezik (J1), drugi jezik (J2) in tuji jezik (TJ).
