Secondary title: ǂThe ǂdistribution of selected invasive alien plant species in the riparian zone of the river Rižana
Secondary abstract: The aim of the graduation thesis was to determine the presence and the frequency of invasive alien plant species in the riparian zone of the river Rižana and to find out the relations between environmental factors and their appearance. We examined 44 reaches on the left bank of the river Rižana and 48 reaches on the right bank. For each reach an environmental assessment on the base of selected environmental characteristics (questionnaire) and the inventory of invasive alien species were made. We found 19 invasive alien species. Among them, the most frequent invasive species were Robinia pseudacacia, Helianthus tuberosus and Erigeron annuus. Canonical Correspondence Analysis revealed that water depth, riparian vegetation and its completeness, flow velocity and flow dynamics were the most influential parameters affecting the presence and abundance of invasive alien species on the left bank while on the right bank riparian vegetation within ten-meter zone along the channel and bank modifications exerted significant effect.

Popisali smo 19 invazivnih tujerodnih vrst. Med njimi so se najbolj pogosto pojavljale vrste: Robinia pseudacacia, Helianthus tuberosus in Erigeron annuus. Kanonična korespondenčna analiza je pokazala, da so na pojavljanje in pogostnost invazivnih tujerodnih vrst na levem bregu najbolj vplivali globina vode, obrežna vegetacija tik ob strugi, sklenjenost obrežne vegetacije, hitrost vode, spodjedanje bregov in dinamika toka, na desnem bregu pa obrežna vegetacija znotraj desetmetrskega pasu ob strugi ter spremembe rečne struge.
