Analysis of suggested improovement of the precast concrete structure |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis focuses on the behaviour of the construction in question and how it is able to whitstand different combinations of vertical and horizontal loads. The decision for such analysis was based on the fact that such type of design is offered on the market and one is able to buy it.
First part of the thesis focuses on the general use of precast concrete, when the use of such constructions is justified and what are the interactions between different construction elements. Joints and connections, which are very important in precast structures, are described in the second part. Third part of the thesis focuses on the structure which is, by its design, made of two different types of constructions. In the thesis I talk about left and right part of the construction. Left part of the object consits of two floors while the right part only has groundfloor. We can therefore talk about the stucture of two different levels of rigidity. Different respons to eartquake load is also expected. Software Tower 5.5 was used to analyse the structure. Modal analysis of primar structure was not possible because the software considered the structure to be labile. While examining the calculation of the manufacturer I came to the conclusion that some of the loads were not chosen correctly nor were they in accordance with Eurocode. Therefore we needed to improve the design and had done so with as little intervention possible. Calculation and modal analysis of improved structure was possible in accordance with Eurocode. The thesis does not focuse on dimensioning of elements. The primar structure is able to whitstand vertical loads. Our main point of interest was how much would the different types of constructions sway towards one another in case of an earthquake and would they collide. The calculation of the improoved design shows that the horizontal sways may be big enough and the constructions may collide. The thesis therefore shows that such combining of two different types of constructions in Slovenia is improper and that such constructions need considerable improovement. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Diplomsko delo obravnava obnašanje obstoječega montažnega objekta pod kombinacijami vertikalnih in horizontalnih obtežb.
V nalogi navajam levi in desni del konstrukcije. |
