Metodology for selecting optimal road intersection solution - verification on case study |
Secondary abstract: |
When building a new or reconstructing an existing intersections on a road network, we always
confront with the following question: "What intersection arrangement will provide the most
effective solution or the closest to the optimal, according to the given authoritative criteria and
conditions?" The global criteria that such optimal solution must satisfy are: functional criteria,
capacity criteria, spatial criteria, road-safety criteria, project and technical criteria,
environment criteria and criteria of economic viability. A common procedure or methodology
should be followed to determine the suitability of the individual alternatives, their mutual
comparison and the selection of the most appropriate. To properly resolve this situation, the
problem and the objective of comparison and selection should be first clearly defined. This
thesis provides a description of global criteria and proposal of a procedure or methodology,
which will result in the selection of the optimal alternative of the intersection in the road
network. The use of this proposed methodology is presented in the completed thesis on the
specific case of the four-leg intersection of state road R3-646/1196 and local road LC138120
at Šentvid pri Stični. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Pri tem so globalni kriteriji, katerih
zahtevam in merilom mora optimalna rešitev križišča ustrezati, naslednji: funkcionalni
kriterij, kriterij prepustnosti, prostorski kriterij, prometno-varnostni kriterij, projektnotehnični
kriterij, okoljski kriterij ter ekonomski kriterij. Ugotavljanje primernosti in analiza
slediti enotnemu postopku oz. metodologiji.
