Secondary title: Evaluation of earthquake resistance of masonry building Mala vas
Secondary abstract: The evaluation of the seismic resistance of a masonry building, which is located in the village Mala vas, Posočje, is presented. In the first part, the occurrence of earthquakes, the seismic action on buildings and the impact of earthquakes on masonry buildings are briefly described. In the following part, we present theoretical background for calculation of resistance of masonry walls taking into account different types of failure. The second part of the thesis addresses the seismic performance assessment of masonry building. Seismic forces were determined with the lateral force method and distributed on certain walls. The material characteristics were assessed based on the literature and the Eurocodes. We first made the evaluation of seismic resistance for each wall at the ground floor taking into account both rectangular directions of the building. Based on the results it can be concluded that the seismic resistance of the residential house Mala vas is not sufficient in terms of requirements of Eurocode.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi obravnavamo oceno potresne odpornosti zidanega objekta, zgrajenega v naselju Mala vas v Posočju.
