Secondary title: Static analysis and design of the existing road bridge over the Sava river in Črnuče
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we discussed the existing road bridge over the Sava river in Črnuče. We performed static analysis and designed the structure in accordance with the Eurocodes. The bridge was built before the First World War and was since then renovated and reconstructed many times. With the help of the literature and field examination we constructed idealized models for analysis. On these models we applied three main actions, self-weight, wind action and traffic loads. To design expansion joints and bridge bearings we also took in consideration thermal action. We found out that most elements don’t comply with stability and cross-section check, furthermore also many connections don’t comply with design provisions. Bridge was last renovated in year 1975 and since then the amount of traffic had certainly doubled, therefore acquired results make sense. If we wanted the static analysis and design of the bridge to be in accordance with Eurocodes, we would have to reinforce or replace more than half of the construction elements. As a result, bridge’s self weight would double. Adequate standard for traffic loads SIST EN 1991-2 allows us to reduce the traffic action on the notional lane with the most unfavourable effect for 20 %. Although this is not allowed in our National Annex, we used this reduction anyway. Despite the fact that over the bridge runs an important transport link to the city centre we presumed that the actual traffic load is lower than the maximal value directed in Eurocode. Additionally we analyzed two different bridge bearings, we defined the necessary expansion joints and controlled two construction details for fatigue.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali obstoječi cestni most čez reko Savo v Črnučah. Opravili smo statično analizo in dimenzioniranje konstrukcije skladno z Evrokod standardi.
