Secondary title: Efficiency assesment in public hydrant network
Secondary abstract: The thesis presents measurements for establishing the adequacy of conditions in public hydrant network of a specific area. It presents measurement equipment, measurement technique and measurements in the specific area in Ljubljana. The first part of the thesis presents the legislation of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of fire safety from water supply network. It also presents different fire hydrants, their functions, and planning of building public hydrant networks, the equipment for the implementation of fire measurement and the alternative water supply sources for fire fighting. The second part provides the data on the area of measurement and the processing and analysis of measurement, with the emphasis on the flow and pressure measurements. It includes a described, calculated and graphically displayed fire safety test of a specific area. In the continuation it proposes solutions to the situation in the selected area and describes a suggestion on how to successfully resolve the problems.
