Secondary title: Use of Plateia software for design of roads and intersections
Secondary abstract: The purpose of the graduation's thesis is to demonstrate the use of Plateia software for design of roads and road intersections. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part briefly describes the history and the main influences on the development of road transport. Further is made a general description of the technical and geometrical elements of roads with the description of level road intersections, roundabouts, multilevel road junctions and bus bays. The next chapter presents a brief history of computer-aided design and CAD software, with descriptions of AutoCAD software, AutoCAD Civil 3D software and, in details, PLATEIA software. In the practical part I have chosen three different locations in the Šentjernej county, to demonstrate the use and functionalities of Plateia software. I designed a concept of segment deviation of regional road, roundabout and cross section with a left-turn only lane, including bus bays. Used software commands and functionalities are described in detail, from the insertion of geodetic data in the drawing up to the design of road axis elements in horizontal alignment, longitudinal sections and cross sections.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen diplomske naloge je prikazati uporabo programa Plateia za načrtovanje cest in križišč. Diplomska naloga je razdeljena na teoretični in praktični del. V teoretičnem delu je na kratko opisana zgodovina ter glavni vplivi na razvoj cestnega prometa. Sledi splošen opis tehničnih in geometrijskih elementov cest. Podani so tudi opisi klasičnih nivojskih križišč, krožnih nivojskih križišč in izvennivojskih križišč ter avtobusnih postajališč. V naslednjem poglavju je predstavljena kratka zgodovina razvoja računalniško podprtega projektiranja ter CAD programske opreme z opisom programov AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D in podrobneje programa Plateia. V praktičnem delu sem za prikaz uporabe in delovanja programa Plateia izbral tri različne lokacije v okolici občine Šentjernej. Izdelal sem idejne zasnove deviacije odseka regionalne ceste, krožnega križišča in klasičnega nivojskega križišča s prometnim pasom za zavijanje v levo in z avtobusnimi postajališči. Uporabljeni ukazi in funkcionalnosti so opisani podrobno, vse od vnosa geodetskih podatkov v risbo do izrisa elementov cestne osi v tlorisu, vzdolžnem profilu in prečnih profilih.
