Secondary title: Nonverbal communication between teachers and students in the first educational period of the elementary school
Secondary abstract: In my thesis I focused on teachers and students in the first educational period and their relationship with nonverbal communication. The task includes theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part I explain the concept of communication and nonverbal communication, describe gender differences in nonverbal communication and comparison of social and cultural environment and nonverbal communication. Further on I explain different typologies of nonverbal communication and how to interpret nonverbal messages. Finally I describe nonverbal communication in the connection with teachers practice in the classroom. In the practical part I used a questionnaire which was answered by primary school teachers. Research has shown that teachers and students in the first period of the primary education are aware of nonverbal communication and are using it consciously on everyday basis. They recognize the signs of nonverbal communication such as gestures, facial expressions, body posture and give them great importance. This means, that they observe and give them the correct response. Teachers acknowledge many differences in nonverbal communication of boys and girls and as well know the difference between verbal and nonverbal communication. They are aware that the communication is in more than 50% based on nonverbal communication and that nonverbal communication is largely present in all areas of teaching in the first period of primary education in elementary school.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomskem delu sem se osredinila na učitelje in učiteljice v prvem vzgojno-izobraževalnem obdobju in njihov odnos do nebesedne komunikacije. Naloga zajema teoretični in empirični del. V teoretičnem delu je razložen pojem komunikacije in bolj podrobno nebesedne komunikacije. Opisane so razlike med spoloma v nebesedni komunikaciji, primerjava različnih kulturnih in socialnih okolij in nebesedne komunikacije. Navedene so različne tipologije nebesedne komunikacije in postopki interpretacije nebesednih sporočil. Opisana je nebesedna komunikacija v povezavi z učiteljevim delom v razredu. Za diplomsko raziskavo sem uporabila vprašalnik. Izpolnili so ga učitelji in učiteljice prvega izobraževalnega obdobja osnovne šole.
