The main objective of the diploma thesis is to explain the awareness of the artist’s own creative process and to expose its key moments. Due the fact that the exploration into the world of one’s personal creative process is hard to define, I have started from the scratch and its widest reach of realization, thus using the visual world. Therefore, the first half of theoretical part is researching the physical world of my own creative process, whilst the second part focuses on exploring it on the inside by breaking it down to the essential parts, recognized through my own thorough examination of my own artistic development. The theoretical part of the thesis highlights the fine arts by analysing my artistic space and the elements that are in any way incorporated into my work. Firstly, the historical development of collage until the present day and the use of the technique in various 20th century avant-gardes are introduced. To continue, the term collage and related expressions such as materialism and the elements of reality, texture, colours, stains and sign iconography are explained. Because in every interpretation of an artist’s work, there is a conflict between the original idea and its potential realizations, which are subordinated to the unlimited assumptions and hindrances, the thesis emphasizes the physical world as well as the artist’s inner evolution. For this reason, the second half of the theoretical part explores the subconscious factors such are the social-economical influence, critique, creative environment as well as the artist's personal motifs, aspirations, issues, doubts and inspirations. Here, the main emphasis is put in the organic biological approach with its main orientation in human. By interpreting the artist’s statements and personal experience, the thesis explores the artist’s first encounter of inspiration as well as its realization in the process of creative realization. The thesis continues with the presentation of my own art that has been created during my time of studies and discussed throughout the thesis. The artistic part of the diploma has been created as a part of the practical assignment at the High School Ledina. During that time, I was challenged to create a collage and visually express the daily reflections and impressions into my art journal. |
