Secondary title: | Stress in helping professions and care for professional development |
Secondary abstract: | The diploma thesis focuses on stress in helping professions and care of experts for their professional development. In the theoretical part various definitions and functions of stress are presented, as well as stress factors and potential consequences of stress with emphasis on helping professions. I continued with the description of coping strategies and certain techniques for managing stress. At the end I presented the importance of professional development related to the helping professions. In the empirical part qualitative research method was used and three professionals from the field of helping professions were interviewed individually. The results show the differences in experiencing stress situations at work and differences in use of coping strategies. Moreover, different opinions of experts related to stress were pointed out. The results show that for the first interviewee the interpersonal relationships at the work place are the most stressful, to the other pilling up the tasks brings the highest stress and the third one emphasises the differences in team of experts regarding the acknowledging the users’ needs as the most stressful. |
