Abstract

Izhodišca: V diplomskem delu je opisana bolecina in pomen ocenjevanja le te.

Secondary title: PAIN MANAGEMENT AFTER KNEE SURGERY
Secondary abstract: Starting point: This thesis describes the pain and the importance of the assessment thereof. The aim of the thesis was to determine the degree of pain in a patient following arthroscopic knee surgery and to compare it with the pain assessment in a patient following knee arthroplasty. We determined what impact the pain had on the patient on the emotional, physical and psychological level, and whether there is a difference in the treatment of pain between patients after arthroscopic knee surgery and patients after knee arthroplasty. Methodology: The study was based on a quantitative work method, which was carried out with the help of an anonymous questionnaire. We processed obtained data statistically using the computer program Microsoft Excel and illustrated the results in the form of graphs. The questionnaire was conducted among patients in the surgical department of the General Hospital dr. Jože Potrč Ptuj. Results: The results showed that more than half of those surveyed who had knee arthroplasty surgery reported pain with an average score of 7,2. Patients who had arthroscopic knee surgery reported pain with an average score 6,5. Discussion: Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience of humans, which is reflected at the physical and emotional level. Often it also causes deterioration of relationships between partners, in the family, between colleagues and in the wider social environment and society. Modern medicine is increasingly trying to relieve the pain.
