študija primera
Abstract

Differences between male and female entrepreneurs in Slovenia |
Secondary abstract: |
The purpose of the thesis was to find out what are the differences between male entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurs in Slovenia and why these differences occur. A graduate seminar was divided into two major works on the theoretical and empirical works or. case study.
In the theoretical part, we learn the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and what are the reasons (motives) and female entrepreneurs to opt for an entrepreneurial career, find out what their personality characteristics are, and to examine what kind of business is located in Slovenia.
In the case study (in the empirical part), we conducted an interview with a male entrepreneur and an interview with a female entrepreneur. This study compared the characteristics in which are male and female entrepreneurs differ. From the studies we can conclude that the male and female entrepreneurs differ according to the degree and direction of educational attainment, based on past experience and according to the activity which they deal with. Male and female entrepreneurs are similarly at risk, as none are prone to high risk, and both have at least one parent (self-employed) entrepreneur and both of these were the eldest child in the family.
If we compare male and female entrepreneurs in Slovenia, we can see that they are under certain characteristics quite similar, but also different in certain ways. This varies depending on the motivation, past experience, personal characteristics, depending on the type of business set up and type of resource to start a business.
Male and female entrepreneurs in addition to the previously mentioned characteristics also differ in the proportion of births and established companies. The proportion of births and established businesses set up and run by women is lower than the one that created and run by men, but it is wrong to judge that women are less capable in managing and successful than men. |
