Abstract

Secondary title: Separation and waste management in the University clinical centre Maribor
Secondary abstract: We face with waste at a daily base. It is produced at our homes, industry, on farms and of course in health care. We must properly treat waste, only that way can we ensure a clean and healthy environment. In this thesis we will introduce reverse logistics and explain its importance and connection with waste treatment. On a case of University clinical centre of Maribor we will investigate treatment of waste, that is produced in medical care. We will also briefly introduce the institution and describe their work and visions. We will try to explain the whole process of proper waste treatment, that contains collecting, packaging, storing and transportation. The complexity of the process requires a high degree of responsibility. In every process there is a certain degree of error. We will try to lower that degree by introducing some proposals of process improvement. We will also determine the importance of waste treatment education and awareness in health care institutions.
