Abstract

Secondary title: Third party supply management process reeingeniring in Lek d.d.
Secondary abstract: Pharmaceutical companies are nowadays not facing only with an accelerating competition but also with the requirements of health care for lower prices, which is undoubtedly the reason that companies paying more and more attention to reducing the total costs. This is mainly reflected in the adaptation and modification of business processes. Cost reduction can have a negative effect on the quality, therefore is preservation and its growth crucial. Renovation of the business and internal processes is not confined only within the organization, but in its participation in the direction of expanding strategic cooperation with other organizations. Merging the benefits of two or more partners, in my case, third party suppliers, means not only the mutual-aid, but also more effective performance on reducing operating costs and providing better quality products. Their relationship is defined by a contract which specifies the conditions for joint cooperation in the supply of raw materials, packaging, finished products or even services. In my final thesis I focused on supply chain management with third party suppliers in the company Lek d.d. and on its importance in effective cooperation with the supply chain according to third party supplier. Agreed efficient process of supply chain is a key to strategic partnerships and competitive strength on the market of pharmaceutical products. Thesis is presented in two parts: the first, theoretical part and the second, applicative part, where current and renovated processes of supply chain management with third party suppliers were presented. The purpose of the final thesis is to examine the current business process with third party suppliers, to identify potential weaknesses and propose changes in process itself. Improvements in the process would help to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency in cooperation with involved internal roles, consequently as well in cooperation with suppliers and finally with ultimate care of their customers.
