Secondary title: | Vacuum carburizing of steels |
Secondary abstract: | In the present work, vacuum carburizing is monitored by the use of in-situ electrical resistivity measurements. This enables us to gain deeper insight into the underlying physical phenomena. The experiments were conducted on samples of technically pure iron and a model alloy with the addition of 3 wt. % chromium. In the succeeding step, the samples are decarburized, the resulting microstructures serve as an indication on the influence of chromium on the reversibility of the microstructure with a carburizing history. |
