Secondary title: | The alleged flute from Divje babe I |
Secondary abstract: | In the graduate seminar we discuss the alleged oldest flute in the world. We present how geometric properties of the flute and different combinations of coverage of tone holes affect the fundamental frequency of a modern flute. We use this to calculate fundamental frequencies of the alleged oldest flute. We measure fundamental frequencies for replica of the alleged oldest flute and compare them with the calculated fundamental frequencies. Then we check if fundamental frequencies are consonant and compare frequencies with the known tones of the modern music scale. |
