Abstract
Tarče teroristov so predvsem večje ladje, hoteli, avtobusi, nakupovalni centri, lokali, prostori, kjer se zbira večja množica ljudi in kjer so ljudje srečni in brezskrbni.

Tourism is one of the biggest and one of the world's fastest growing industries, which represents a global activity of people, where vacation represents a way of fun and freedom from everyday life and pressures. Tourism can bring many economic and social benefits, but it can also be associated with negative impacts. One of those negative sides is criminality. Criminality is one of the most serious threats to modern tourism. Tourists are often victims of criminal activities and they represent a lucrative catch for criminals. Crime againts tourists can be divided into casual/occasional crime and organized crime. Forms of occasional crime are theft, pickpocketing, robbery, rape, kiddnapping, murder, etc. Organized crime against tourists can be associated with drugs, because tourists are often being used for drug smuggling, and they can also become victims of human trafficking. Crime againts tourists is particularly expressed through politically motivated attacks. The main goal of terrorists is to cause fear among wider masses of people, to achieve their objectives. Targets of terrorists are usually larger ships, hotels, buses, shopping centers, cafes, places where larger crowd of people gathers and where people are happy and carefree. They are violent terrorist acts, which has already caused a great fear among people in the past (terrorist attack in Kenya, Mumbai, Egypt, Russia etc.). Crime can be caused by local residents againts tourists, by tourists againts local residents or by tourists againts tourists. Crime against tourists is more susceptible than crime againts local residents, as tourists represent a more lucrative catch (they usually carry large amounts of money and other valuable things, they are less likely to report crimes, they are ignoring the usual precatiouns, etc.). Tourists, especially children and women, can become victims of human trafficking, because it brings huge profits to criminals. It is for a purpose of prostituotuon. Crime againts tourists poses a threat to international level. |
