vpliv podjetniškega udejstvovanja na življenjsko zadovoljstvo

Abstract

Secondary title: Entrepreneurship for women
Secondary abstract: Entrepreneurship has always been a special method of career engagement used by those who appreciate independence and the freedom of making life choices. Therefore, entrepreneurship is not just a way of career engagement, but rather a way of life that provides fulfilment of self-potential on the highest level. If this is the case, then we are interested in finding out whether entrepreneurship could also be a relevant factor in achieving life satisfaction. Being "happy" or "satisfied", however, may be a very large concept, but we have found out through our thesis that there is a great correlation between fulfilment of one's potentials or so-called self-actualization and life satisfaction achievement. We found that only when a person has achieved the highest level of life satisfaction and when his greatest need is fulfilled does he find self-actualization. In our thesis, we have focused on women. Therefore, we have, among other things, studied the gender differences in the field of life values and expectations, as well as on life motivation. Thus, we have realized that women mostly appreciate different values than men and also, that this specific differentiation has an impact on their career aspirations. While studying the entrepreneurial aspirations of women and men, we have also realized that women enter into entrepreneurship with different objectives and motivation. In this way, we were able to identify the causes for having a small, yet growing, proportion of female entrepreneurship in the world. Finally, we have found that female entrepreneurship is significantly different from male entrepreneurship, according to the way entrepreneurship is modernly defined and promoted in public. Through our thesis, therefore, we have researched the difference of entrepreneurial aspirations between women and men and the impact of entrepreneurial engagement on life satisfaction. Our goal was to discover the method of entrepreneurial engagement for women to achieve life satisfaction, especially those with an entrepreneurial personality. While reviewing the literature and available research, we have become certain about the positive impact of entrepreneurial engagement on life satisfaction, especially for those people who have acquired it, either by their values, or as result of a genetic trait toward entrepreneurial activity. The fact is that women as well as men can achieve life satisfaction with self-actualization, resulting in the realization of their potential. However, there is a crucial difference in that women possess both career potential as well as family potential (motherhood), with a strong need of equally fulfilling them both. Females, therefore, will have to set up a strong balance between career and family (work-life balance) to achieve the highest level of life satisfaction. We have realized that entrepreneurial engagement is one of the best alternatives to do so.
