Abstract

Opisana so različna varnostna opozorila, njihov namen, učinkovitost oziroma neučinkovitost skozi zadnjih nekaj let in lažna varnostna opozorila oziroma oglasi. Predstavljena so osnovna načela, kako razviti bolj razumljiva in upoštevana varnostna opozorila.

Secondary title: THE IMPACT OF SECURITY WARNINGS ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY USER
Secondary abstract: The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes information security awareness, the situation in Slovenia, and safety warnings as its integral part. We described various security warnings, their purpose, effectiveness or ineffectiveness over the last few years, as well as fake security warnings or advertisements. We presented the basic principles for a more understandable and compliant security warnings. We also described awareness programs in Slovenia. The increase in cybercrime leads to a need for greater awareness among the users of information-communication technology. This is the basis for a higher level of information security. An integral part of information security is the warnings that inform us of threats and risks. We can see security warnings on computers and smart mobile devices. They may appear alone on a specified event, or we can locate them ourselves. Among others, security warnings are also issued by Slovenian websites and awareness programs such as varninainternetu.si, safe.si and cert.si. With the purpose of misleading the users of information-communication technology, there are also false security warnings. The effectiveness of the security warnings depends on several factors; important are both compliance and understanding of security warning. The research part of the thesis presents our research and statistical analysis, which was used to determine how often users of information-communication technology are faced with security warnings, how they affect them, their opinion with regard to security warnings, and their behaviour after reading the security warning.
