Abstract

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂimpact of the psychological preparation on the athleteʼs ability of effective stress control and stress management
Secondary abstract: Sportspersons playing sport or participating in sport activities are exposed to physical and mental challenges. They are confronted with stress that occurs because of high competition in sport and other demands coming from parents, coaches and peers. Some sportspersons are able to learn how to successfully solve such tensions; for them sport represents a challenge and something pleasant. On the other hand, some sportspersons lack this ability and are therefore confronted with a lot of stress and anxiety. There is no doubt that people differ regarding the ability of efficiently managing stressful situations. The differences emerge from stress management techniques sportspersons have learned in childhood and adolescence. Sport is important environment, where individuals gain skills on how to achieve aims, how to relax, communicate, cooperate, In some way sport can be defined as experimental and learning laboratory for mastering techniques and forms of stress handling.
