Abstract

Diplomsko delo obravnava internacionalizacijo kot proces in stanje ali razvojno stopnjo v poslovanju podjetja. Internacionalizacija, opredeljena kot aktivna udeležba v mednarodnem poslovanju oz. sistematično povečanje mednarodne dimenzije poslovanja, je za podjetja z ambicijo dinamične rasti, še posebej slovenska, ki delujejo v majhnem odprtem gospodarstvu, predstavljena kot nujnost. V teoretičnem delu, ki ga obsega drugo poglavje tega dela, so najprej opisani osnovni načini oz. strategije internacionalizacije. Sledi analiza motivov in tveganj zanjo, nato pa so navedene prednosti, slabosti, priložnosti in nevarnosti posameznih oblik oz. strategij internacionalizacije. V tretjem poglavju je predstavljeno podjetje Vivapen, d. o. o., kot primer majhnega do srednje velikega internacionaliziranega podjetja. Pregledu dejavnosti in zgodovine tega podjetja sledi analiza procesa njegove internacionalizacije na podlagi teoretičnih izhodišč, predstavljenih v drugem poglavju. Pri tem prepoznamo tri faze internacionalizacije. Ugotavljamo, da v praksi lahko več načinov internacionalizacije soobstaja hkrati ter da so možni hibridni načini internacionalizacije, ki so kombinacija dveh ali več strategij, opisanih med teoretičnimi izhodišči. V primeru obravnavanega podjetja ugotovimo, da je vsaka naslednja faza internacionalizacije vodila v izrazito povečanje prodaje in dobička ter tako internacionalizacijo poslovanja prepoznamo kot enega temeljev uspeha in razvoja podjetja Vivapen, d. o. o.

Secondary abstract: The graduation paper deals with internationalization as both a process and a state or a development stage in the operations of an enterprise. Internationalization, defined as active participation in international business, or systematic increase of international dimension of business, is seen as an urgent avenue for any firm with the ambition of dynamic growth, and especially for Slovenian firms operating in a small and open economy. The theoretical part, comprised in the second chapter of the paper, first describes the basic internationalization strategies. This is followed by an analysis of motives and related risks, and a SWOT analysis of each of the international entry strategies. The third chapter presents a case study of the company Vivapen, d.o.o., as an example of an internationalized SME. A description of the company's activities and history is followed by an analysis of its internationalization process, based on the theoretical foundations presented in the second chapter. Three stages of internationalization are identified. We find that in practice, several internationalization strategies can coexist at the same time as hybrid stages of internationalization, which are in fact combinations of two or more basic strategies described in the theoretical part of the thesis. In the case at hand, we find that every subsequent stage of internationalization led to a dramatic increase in sales and profits, and thus we identify internationalization as a cornerstone of success and development of the company Vivapen, d.o.o.
