Abstract

Kupec v današnjem poslovnem svetu želi nizke cene, kvaliteten proizvod in kratke dobavne roke.

Secondary abstract: A dynamic business environment results in changes in manufacturing and business processes. In certain cases, these changes are only partial. In others, the entire system has to be completely remade. Buyers demand shorter delivery times and orders are frequently changed right before the start or even during manufacturing. In today’s business world, the buyer demands low prices, a quality product, and short delivery times. These demands require that suppliers learn the art of adaptability, especially in regards to the basic transformation process, i.e. manufacturing. This undergraduate thesis will focus on exactly this segment; on managing the manufacturing process costs when preparing an order. It will especially look at new orders in the printing industry (printing self-adhesive and other labels). If we familiarize ourselves with the prices of all the materials and the prices of tools, as well as knowing the hourly machine rate, we can perform the manufacturing process in several ways. One of the many solutions is bound to be the cheapest. It could well be, however, that even the cheapest solution is not the most rational, since on many occasions we do not know the buyer’s future order quantity. We will consequently use a simple Excel data entry method to try and discover the cheapest manufacturing process, which will then be essential in selecting the execution. The following does, however, hold true: the more necessary data on hand, the easier the decision. In order to ensure the decision model gives the best possible results, we will have to use planning theory and decision theory to make sense of the latter; based on the collected data, we will then have to introduce a model into the graphics software based on everyday practice.
