Secondary abstract:	Noise barriers are constructions, with their primary role to provide noise protection. When designing noise barriers, many aspects need to be taken into consideration such as: the potential for adjusting the construction, choosing construction materials, acoustic characteristics and, last but not least, an appropriate geographical location according to the environmental requirements. In the thesis we deal with the source of noise and its impact on the environment. We deal with different types of noise protection systems by putting particular emphasis on noise barriers. We introduce the procedure of the design and construction of noise barriers in the case of a grade separated intersection in Grobelno and go into the production process of wood-concrete-composite noise panels.
