Abstract

Secondary title: Modelling and simulation of selected auxetic materials
Secondary abstract: Throughout human history, development of civilizations was affected by the discovering of new materials. With the knowledge of metallurgy, which today is possess by human society, we know that the development of new materials have a decisive influence to development of modern farming, transport, handcraft, etc. Nowadays industry is focused on materials that are lightweight and have good stress resistance. This includes the auxetic materials which are less well – known, but they have unique mechanical properties, which can be used in various branches of industry. Master's thesis discuss about materials with »re - entrant« auxetic structure, with different angles of the cells which are building blocks of structure. By using of numerical analyzes were determined mechanical properties of those structures, and compared them with analytical model. We have encumber structures, with small shifts representing compressive loading. We have used a small displacements, because analytical model is not useful for large deformations. Obtained results are presented in charts, where it's clearly visible difference between the angles of structures. Based on obtained results, we can see advanteges of auxetic structures compared wit conventional structures. With these facts, we do not claim that conventional structures are worse, but auxetic structures have few advantages in some conditions compared with convention
