Abstract

Secondary abstract: Diploma thesis shows the health educational work of a nurse in orthoptic pleoptic office, which is of exceptional importance for visually impaired children and their parents, as their sight and therefore their quality of life can dramatically improve by being consistent in carrying out certain eye exercises. By using descriptive research method we clarified the concept of visual impairment, especially with children, explain the importance of eye exercise in order to improve visual impairment with children, look into the psychological aspect of visual impairment and describe the importance of communication between the nurse, children and their parents. Vision is one of the most important senses, as we receive most of the information from the environment through vision. That is why the improvement of visual impairment, especially with children, has enormous importance as it has an immense influence on a child’s life and development.
