Abstract

Secondary title: Preparation of picking units in the distribution centre
Secondary abstract: The thesisi presents the current state in Mercator’s distribution centre in Ptuj and suggestions, which could contribute to the optimization of the preparation of picking units. Presented are the organization of the centre and with the help of process maps the fundamental storage processes in it as well as means of internal transport and transport accessories. With the help of the critical analysis based on observation of commissioners at the preparation of goods are presented the problems, their consequences and solutions, which would contribute to processes that are more efficient. Picking is considered the most intensive and most expensive process of all the storage processes. Therefore, we focused particularly on the possibility for improvements in the picking process by considering the spatial and financial abilities of the company. Suggested and shown is the introduction of drive-floor scales and protective tarpaulins and their expected effect, which reflects that the planned upgrades reduce the time for weighting and protection of units.
