diplomsko delo
Abstract

VALUES OF STUDENTS OF PRESCHOOL EDUCATION |
Secondary abstract: |
The graduation thesis deals with values and their impact on formation of personality and individual's operation, how they lead us through life. In detail we present Musek's and Schwartz's classification of values, where universal values are divided in regard to motivation which is a foundation for development of values. Initially, values are developed within a family and later in child's contact with immediate and wider social environment. With a proper teaching of values in a pre-school period and with various didactic strategies and methods, in kindergarten we can influence the development of values itself in a pre-school child. Values of the important adults are therefore transferred to children, so we analysed the values of students of pre-school education. 194 students participated in the research. We analysed which values are the most emphasized in students of pre-school education, and what are the differences in values in regard to age and type of study. The results show that in students of pre-school education the most highly valued values are goodness and universalism. Older students more highly rate values tradition and safety, and younger ones highly rate hedonism. We also established that values of part-time students do not differ significantly from values of full-time students. Differences in regard to type of study are indicated in the value of self-guiding and safety, and the lowest difference is in the value goodness. The obtained results can be guidelines for planning, formation of the pre-school education studies, for inclusion of the contents influencing the development of values in students of pre-school education, and they can introduce the future teachers with importance of values for their work. |
