Abstract

Branje je dejavnost, ki se je učenci večinoma veselijo. Dobro usvojena bralna tehnika je potrebna za bralno razumevanje. Bralna pismenost je ključni dejavnik učne uspešnosti. Učna uspešnost posameznika določa in omogoča višjo izobrazbo, boljši socialni položaj in večje zaposlitvene možnosti. Otroci, ki prihajajo iz socialno manj spodbudnega okolja se že od svojega otroštva naprej spoprijemajo z manj spodbudnimi okoliščinami, ki jim onemogočajo boljše pogoje za napredovanje. V to skupino sodijo tudi Romi, ki v večinoma prihajajo iz socialno manj spodbudnega okolja. V družinah je visoka brezposelnost in njihov uspeh je odvisen od kvalitetnega dela v šoli. V magistrskem delu smo preverjali bralno pismenost romskih učencev v njihovem maternem jeziku, ki se ga učijo od rojstva naprej in je v domačem okolju jezik sporazumevanja ter učnem jeziku slovenščini. Raziskava bralne pismenosti je bila narejena v Prekmurju na vzorcu romskih učencev, ki so v šolskem letu 2014/2015 obiskovali 3. razred osnovne šole.

Secondary title: Reading literacy of the Roma students in their mother tongue and Slovenian literary language
Secondary abstract: Reading is an activity that children are mostly looking forward to. Well acquired reading technique is needed for reading comprehension. Literacy is a key factor in academic achievement. Educational success defines and enables higher education, better social status and greater employment opportunities. Children who come from socially less stimulating environment are struggling since their childhood with less encouraging conditions that are preventing them from progression. This group includes the Roma, most of them are coming from less privileged backgrounds, unemployment in families is higher, and their success depends on quality of work in school. In this thesis, we examined literacy of the Roma students in their native language, which is taught from birth onwards and is the language of communication at home, and learning language, Slovenian. Reading literacy study was conducted on a sample of Roma pupils that attended the third grade of elementary school in Prekmurje in the school year 2014/2015.
